Hedge Company is located in beautiful downtown Grand Junction, Colorado. We are situated in a valley between the Grand Mesa, the Bookcliffs, and the Colorado National Monument. Twenty-five miles to our west you’ll find the great state of Utah.
Hedge Company was established in 1985 by Ron Mays. Initially, Hedge brokered rare coins, bullion, and rare stamps. Ron, who passed away in March of 2007, was a long-time PCGS & ICG dealer and had been an avid coin and stamp collector.
Ron’s daughter, Teresa, joined the company in 1999 and took over ownership to continue the Mays’ family tradition of offering quality products and service. The company eliminated its rare coins and stamps division, but continued to broker precious metals (gold, silver, platinum, and palladium), and 90% silver U.S. coins.
Teresa is a long-time resident of the Grand Valley and developed a stellar reputation with her customers, who put their trust in the Hedge Company. She enjoyed helping old and new customers attain a position in precious metals.
Teresa retired from Hedge Company in 2025, selling the business to long-time numismatic, David Ledoux. David moved from Houston, Texas to Grand Junction, Colorado, with the sole goal of continuing to run the Hedge Company in the tradition of the Mays family.

Previous to owning the Hedge Company, David worked as a Financial Controller and Chief Financial Officer for companies in Houston. His education in Accounting and his broad numismatic knowledge make him a great fit for the Hedge Company.
